About the Author
Daniele DE WRACHIEN, is Director of the Institute of Agricultural Hydraulics at the State University of Milan, Italy and a Full Professor of Irrigation and Drainage there. During his tenure as President, he established links of close cooperation between that Society and numerous like-minded international organizations, among which it is worth mentioning ICID (International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage). Professor De Wrachien is the author of more than 150 publications in all areas of soil and water phenomena, such as irrigation, draining, flow and transport processes, crop water requirements, water resources use and management, soil erosion and conservation, using both advanced laboratory and field observation techniques and mathematical simulation models. His research is now focused mainly on complex spatial patterns of the environment, with attention given to the spatial variability of hydrological characteristics. Stefano MAMBRETTI is an Associate Professor in the Hydraulics section of the Department of Hydraulic, Environmental, Infrastructure, & Surveying Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where his research focuses on fluid mechanics and fluid-structure interactions and river hydraulics and hydraulic risk management. He is the co-author of numerous conference papers and research articles in his field.

Nice Entertainment Value on the Bundle

This series will get you thinking - the author does a great job of getting you inside the head (pun intended) of his characters, and what I found refreshing for this one was he doesn't try to overwhelm you with the future technology or situations in a post-apocalyptic world: we've all read SF where you want to call b.s. on a futuristic technology but in this case it's believable, and you can wrap your arms around it and understand it. The action scenes are fairly realistic, and you will find your pulse racing (mine did) at various times as you feel as if you are right there.

I originally picked this up for just 99 cents vs. the regular price of each standalone book of $3.99 each or about $20 total. I certainly received a lot more than 99 cents worth of entertainment value. If you're looking for a change of pace from a lot of the sci-fi out there today, I'd recommend giving this series a shot.

Fantastic, but need my red pen!

I want to say first off that this is a terrific series. However, whomever transcribed this to the digital ebook copy needs to learn basic editing skills. I found a lot of spelling errors and missing spaces. This is a UK English series, but has nothing to do with the spelling I am talking about. I found silly things such as rom instead of from or missing spaces between words. Things a first time editor would find easily. A revamp on this would be a great asset to the writer in the long run!

All the cyberpunk you can ever wish for

In a post-apocalyptic world, what’s left of humanity lives in a single domed city run by the shadowy Family. Periodically, the population is culled through the death lottery. All is running smoothly until Jerry Cardle, the man in charge of the lottery finds his name on the list. He discovers that a malevolent artificial intelligence has invaded the city’s systems, which could spell doom for everyone.
With seven days left to live, Cardle must get to the bottom of whatever is going on, but he has to go entirely off the grid to do it.
Code Breakers: Alpha by Colin F. Barnes is a well-written science fiction story of a dystopian future, complete with all the techie bells and whistles one might expect from the genre. In addition, the author does a good job of creating the characters who might inhabit such a dismal future.
Great reading. Don't miss it!

About the Author
Pierre Jean Capretz is an educator and writer. He began teaching French in 1949 and joined the faculty of Yale in 1956, ultimately becoming the Director of the Language Laboratory at the school and then Director of the Language Development Studio. He is best known as the creator and host of the PBS television series French in Action. He was made Doctor of Letters, Honoris Causa by Middlebury College in 1993.

The DVD Rom doesn't work on current versions of either Mac or PC

I bought this hoping it would help with the flow of my French, but instead was met with the frustration of finding out the DVD Rom doesn't work at all on any reasonably new Mac so I borrowed obtained a brand-new PC. Unfortunately it didn't work with that either. It loaded, but the key sections of the DVD did not work - like the actual film. A complete disappointment. C'est la vie in this case.
